Preschool

- Never too early to start -

Overview

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum is your child's first step in education. This curriculum encompasses nursery and reception years that stimulates curiosity to learn among children aged 4 to 6 years old. We aim to provide a happy and secure learning environment which fosters enriched learning.

Using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum, Preschool focuses on 3 areas of development: Communication and Language Development, Physical Development and Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSE). The curriculum is further supported by an integrated phonics programme.

This programme is an ideal basis for your child's entry to International schools after completion. By following the EYFS, parents can be assured that all children undertaking this curriculum will be ready for Year 1.

  • CHILD CENTERED: We take the lead from children themselves, and plan our daily activities in response to their interests and ideas.

  • LEARNING JOURNEY: We pride ourselves on providing a supportive, enriching and exciting learning journey through our Preschool, planting the seeds for a life-long love for learning and establishing the foundations for successful education in Primary school and beyond.

  • PARENT PARTICIPATION: We strive to promote and enrich positive relationships with our parents and the community to enable to continue the learning journey at home.

Our Learning Environment

Collinz International School Preschool Department is in a beautiful purposeful setting with its own indoor play area. It caters for children aged 4-6 years, and children follow the Preschool curriculum. The classes are well-resourced with qualified teachers as a guide.

We emphasise on both indoor and outdoor learning to encourage a positive and enthusiastic attitude to learning. We encourage the children to make their own choices as we believe that this encourages independent learning. We fully utilise the sensory and physical opportunities inside and outside as this enhances the children's learning.

Each classroom is equipped with a whiteboard and a projector as well as airconditioned to ensure the comfort levels of our students. Our library is also equipped with reading material well-suited to their levels. We have a vast range of picture books, easy non-fiction, and books in multiple languages. We regularly review our resources and maintain our equipment to ensure that we have a high regard to health and safety.

Curriculum Areas

The Early Years Foundation Stage has seven areas of learning (3 key and 4 specific), all of which are connected and are of equal importance. We believe that every child should be nurtured both intellectually and emotionally at the start of their school life. In the Preschool programme, we place emphasis on three key areas of development:
